What is a Linkwheel?

One of the very important techniques to promote a business online and market its products or service is the Linkwheel. A link wheel is a series of web 2.0 properties linked in a specific order, all linking back to the money site to give the best benefit to the website. Link wheel uses five or more unique web 2.0 sites with high page ranks using those sites to create a backlink to the client’s website. Spokes of the link wheel have a link to another unique web 2.0 site that forms the wheel. The pivot of the link wheel can be any page such as offer page, squeeze page or the money site on the client’s website.

Based on the unique web 2.0 properties that are used in building link wheel, the client should also ensure adding unique content. The content can be the articles written basing on the keywords provided by the client. To add more value to the content, videos and images can also be added. Few backlinks should also be added to the articles. The links should include the anchor text of the keyword the client wants to rank high for in the search engines. The link thus included should go back to the client’s main hub page in the centre of the link wheel while next backlink is directed to the neighbouring web 2.0 property of the link wheel.

After the link wheel is created, the next task is to promote it. Clients should catch hold of the RSS feeds of the web 2.0 sites and submit them to the RSS directories. Pinging the RSS feeds should follow this. Next to this, the clients should social bookmark each of their web 2.0 properties and the main hub page of their link wheel.

There are certain factors that influence the results after the link wheel is created. One of the main factors is the uniqueness of the keyword and its competition. Unique and less competitive keyword are highly effective ensuring quicker results. In this aspect, the clients or website owners who have got their link wheel created should realize their website should be indexed by the popular search engines like Google. The next event is the website catches the attention of the visitors gradually garnering traffic to the website. When relevant and keyword rich contents are added to the Linkwheel, the website owners can expect the positive results in within six weeks.
